1853. W.J.T. Clarke (father of Sir William Clarke of Cliveden), bought Lot 8, which included this site and site of 'Queen Bess Row'. (Note: Hotham Street originally named Fitzroy Street).
1855. Notice of intention from William George Robert to build for self: Corr. iron house. Site was purchased from W.J.T. Clarke. Rated this same year for 3 rooms and a kitchen. Geo. Roberts listed as occupier.
1857. Thos. Vaughan, builder of Victoria Pde. to build brick additions for Mr. Roberts.
1857c. Mrs. W.G. Roberts, established a Ladies School. Became a Ladies Academy till 1900.
1861. Geo. Roberts, owner. Harry Roberts, occupier. Brick school and small iron house.
1879. Marshall and Son to build brick house, corner Simpson Street for Mrs. Roberts.
1880. Roberts owner/occupier. Brick, 8 rooms.
1901-24. Misses Roberts - occupants. Miss L.M. Roberts. occupant till 1936c.
