Black and white photo of a large Victorian era house with elaborate timber verandah and balcony.

At the time the photo was taken the house was the home of Ormiston Ladies College.  Students and teachers are gathered on the verandah and balcony.

The Misses Singleton were in charge of the school, while their father, Dr John Singleton, ran his medical practice from the same address, accessible through a separate entrance.

The house was also the family home.

The photo is reproduced in Pioneer Doctor by Mary Kent Hughes (1950)
