East Melbourne, Gipps Street 180 - Burchett
Built 1864 for Samuel Ramsden - a fine brick and stone mansion of 20 rooms.
Ramsden lived in the house 1864 - 1876 and his widow until 1886. Ramsden operated the Carlton Flour Mills and in 1868c established a paper mill on the Yarra bank near Princes Bridge. House demolished in 1960's to make way for the Mercy Hospital.

A pencil sketch of Verona, on the corner of Gipps and Clarendon Streets. It is viewed from the Fitzroy Gardens across Clarendon Street. The sketch is from an album of 24 sketches from around Melbourne and Victoria by K Kennedy and dated 1876. It is inscribed 'Mr Ramsden's East Melb from Melb' and signed K Kennedy.

Property Valuations in vicinity of proposed Mercy Hospital - 1951
A letter dated 26 April 1951 from C.H. Beauchamp, valuer, to Mr. Bernard Nolan, solicitor, reporting valuations of three properties on Clarendon Street from the Grey Street to Gipps Street. The properties were "Verona", 132 Clarendon Street; 146 Clarendon Street, the most northerly house of "Fitzroy Terrace"; and "Clarendon", 150 Clarendon Street.
