City of Melbourne loses parking revenue after transfer of Yarra Park to Melbourne Cricket Club
Newspaper clipping reports that the City of Melbourne will extend hours of paid parking in the city to make up for revenue lost when management of Yarra Park was transferred to the Melbourne Cricket Club. The drop in revenue was claimed to be $2.1 million.

A call to the MCC improved the situation around the plane trees to some extent but after a couple of weeks the situation reverted.
Still, long lines of cars and trucks drive and park over tree roots well under the canopies and within a metre or so of the trunks.
