Colour photo of Parcels Van 10CM parked in Jolimont Railway Yards, (sidings). The MCG is visible in the background providing a useful landmark.   The land was sold to a private developer in the 1980s and became the residential precinct known as Wellington Gardens, East Melbourne.

'Red Rattler' carriages are also visible.  The parcels van appears to be in derelict condition, but was later rescued and restored.  It is currently held in storage by the Australian Railway Historical Society.

The photo was taken by Roy James Mitchell, a fitter and turner.  He was born in Williamstown in 1935 and for a time worked at the Jolimont yards before moving to Epping Train Maintenance. He was a keen photographer and made trains and trams his main focus.  He died in 2020.
