Peter Hill was the original owner of the house, which was built in 1867. It stayed in the family until 1912. The left hand window of the house has been replaced by a bay window. The plaque over the doorway shows the name of the house, Belle Vue.
The photo also shows a thin slice of the house at 67 Grey Street and shows the design of the original timber verandah which has now been replaced with cast iron.
