A row of 16 terrace houses of five bays. The two end bays each comprising two houses and the central bay of four houses are arcaded, while the intervening bays, each of four houses, have cast iron verandahs and balconies. The terrace is often described as the longest in Melbourne.
Charles Butler gave notice of his intention to build on three dates in 1877. The first was 9 February 1877 for six 2 storey houses, the second was 24 April for four houses and lastly 31 May for another six houses.

1886. Sinclair and McPherson to build 2-storey house for Mr. L.C. Lefebvre. Louis Lefebvre of Lefebvre and Sons, Wine and Spirit Merchants of 535 Collins Street.
1889. L. Lefebvre - owner of all 3 houses.

James Sinclair and the Fitzroy Gardens
Newspaper clipping about the history of the Fitzroy Gardens. Includes author's own memories of seeing school children cutting through the gardens to the various schools and the many sculptures which adorned the gardens. The article mainly centres on the establishment of the gardens by James Sinclair (now disputed in favour of Clement Hodgkinson) and the story of his remarkable life.

Jolimont, Jolimont Street, 88,86
The house appears as a wide 2-storey rendered house with gently hipped slate roof and bearing a modern verandah.
Although this building appears as a single house it started out as two small cottages. On 30 November 1864 John Sinclair notified the Council that John Holmes would build him a cottage. The Rate Books subsequently listed the cottage as having four rooms.
