Knife ex Cliveden
Entree knife with silver plated handle and stainless steel blade. The blade is engraved with the words 'Grosvenor Delphic' written in copperplate style and on an angle to the blade. Across the base of the blade in block letters and over two lines are the words, 'Firth-Brearley Stainless 3' The handle is engraved with the word 'Cliveden' in copperplate style writing.

Cairns Apartments Finial Repair
On 1 July 2015 two large cranes and a team of men removed the finial from the top of the southern steeple of the Cairns Apartments.
This series of photos shows the action.
The finial is to be rebuilt by a stonemason using Geelong sandstone.

Valetta House, Vandalism and Neglect, 2015
This grand old mansion built in 1856 has been crumbling for years. Recently it has had homeless people living in it resulting in broken windows and doors. Galvanised iron, boarded up windows and security wire are now its most prominent and saddest features.

Mosspennoch, Vandalism and Neglect, 2015
This grand mansion on Clarendon Street has been unoccupied and crumbling for many years. In 2011 it was occupied by homeless people resulting in a fire and some internal and external damage. It is now boarded up and surrounded by security fencing. There has been no action on the part of the owners to repair or restore the building.

A study by the Royal Australian Institute of Architects with a foreword by J.D. Pringle. The book grew out of an exhibition of photos held in Sydney in 1964 which drew attention to the debasement of our visual environment. Apathy and complacency have allowed a proliferation of disfigurements to landscapes and streetscapes.

Pauline Cooney of 1121 Hoddle Street
First photo shows Pauline Cooney (1916-1989) in the back yard of her childhood home, Doontallie, 1121 Hoddle Street. Pauline was the daughter of John Joseph Cooney but was brought up by her aunt Mary at Doontallie. After her marriage to Richard Meehan she lived at 4 Grey Street from 1952-1976. Second photo shows Pauline with her elder sister, Marie. Marie became a Josephite nun.

Photo shows Richard Meehan and his sisters on board Stroud the plumber's motorbike outside their family home, 4 Grey Street, East Melbourne. Their mother Pauline nee Cooney grew up in the care of her aunt, Mary Cooney, at 1121 Hoddle Street. Pauline married Richard Meehan at St Patrick's Cathedral in 1943 and from 1952-1976 the Meehan family lived at 4 Grey Street.

At the time the photo was taken it was owned by the Dougharty family who owned it from 1883-1952. The two children shown are Ethel Grey Dougharty and possibly her youngest brother Douglass

A photo of a display of photos of the senior staff of The Argus in 1882 - Edward is above the "r" in Argus. The photo is included in the manuscript "The Men who Made the Argus and the Australasian", from the State Library of Victoria. The head shot appeared in his obituary in The Argus in 1892.

Bill and Myra Sutton outside 86 Wellington Parade, East Melbourne. In the background is a sign for 'safety brakes spare parts', now Pyman's Pharmacy; and beyond that a sign for Foodland Self Service, now a Vietnamese restaurant. The Suttons at the time the photo was taken lived in Vale Street, East Melbourne. They have continued to live in the area ever since.
