Built 1864 for Samuel Ramsden - a fine brick and stone mansion of 20 rooms.
Ramsden lived in the house 1864 - 1876 and his widow until 1886. Ramsden operated the Carlton Flour Mills and in 1868c established a paper mill on the Yarra bank near Princes Bridge. House demolished in 1960's to make way for the Mercy Hospital.
