'A Scullery Maid in East Melbourne', the story of Mary Louise Friedrichs, the mother of William Robert Johnston, the antique dealer and collector who bequeathed his house and collection to the people of Victoria to form what is now known as The Johnston Collection. She worked for the collector, spiritualist and importer, Thomas Welton Stanford, at his house in Clarendon Street, East Melbourne.

'Yarra Park, From Go to Woe', a short history of Yarra Park from the time it was first planned by Governor La Trobe as a place of recreation for the public to its present de facto use as a car park.
'Public Nuisance in Gipps Street', Charles Barthing kept a common dancing room behind the present day Gipps Street Cellars, much to the neighbours' annoyance, who took him to court. A report based on articles in the Argus 7 and 21 December, 1876.
