Biographical/Historical note: John Singleton, born 1808 in Dublin, Ireland, died 1891 in East Melbourne. Opened free Singleton Medical Welfare Centre in 1869, and visited prisoners in gaol, including Ned Kelly. He married Isabella Daunt of Cork, born 1808, died 1886, having children: William Daunt, born (1832), died 1901 ; John Wesley, born 1838, died 1924 ; Mary Quinn ; Robert Henry Thomas, born 1849, died 1927 ; Frances Matilda V., born (1849), died 1867 ; Isabell, born (1843), died 1869 ; Elizabeth (Grace), born (1844), died 1932 ; Anna (Mercy), born (1846), died 1934.
