Photos and documents relating to Bishopscourt Open Day.
Bishopscourt took part in "Melbourne Open House" on 30 and 31 July 2011. Guides provided historical perspectives of the building and its occupants since Bishop Charles and Mrs Frances Perry first took up residence in 1853.
Amongst the guides were David Woods, Richenda Harrison and Clem Taplin, who, as children of Archbishop Frank and Mrs Jean Woods, were able to share personal memories of growing up at Bishopscourt in the 1950s, '60s and '70s.
The tour was hosted by Archbishop Philip and Mrs Joy Freier.
It was supported by many volunteers from the Anglican Diocese of Melbourne, the Melbourne Anglican Cultural Organisation, the Australian Garden History Society, the Johnston Collection, the Australian Decorative & Fine Arts Society Yarra and the East Melbourne Historical Society.
It is estimated that there were over 1,200 visitors.
