Collection of photos of Dorijo, an attractive but run down art-deco building in Victoria Parade next to the Drill Hall on the corner of Powlett Street. The photos were taken between 2008 and 2012.
According to a resident (10 August 2010) an owner of the building had recently died and there was some uncertainty about the future of the building. A large tree visible in the 2008 image was removed before the 2012 photos specifically because it was causing structural damage. The building, according to the resident, contains a number of original fittings inside. Not in original condition but it is OK to live in.
There has been no other apparent remedial work to 2012.
The building was designed by the same architect, I.G. Anderson, who designed Lonsdale House in 1934, which was recently bulldozed by Colonial First State to make way for a Myer shopping centre.
