File location:
Digital file The original bluestone church, completed in 1864, was situated near the corner of George and Clarendon Streets. On New Year’s Day 1905 the church was completely gutted by fire.
These are photographs of the original church and buildings taken some time after the fire by professional photographer Norman K. Harvey. Also included is the 1965 letter from Mr. Harvey to the Parish Minister of the time, Rev. Riddles. Mr. Harvey was elderly and blind by this stage. The letter includes an outline map of the church and buildings.
The photographs are high quality even though they have faded and discoloured slightly. The representations here may be zoomed and panned to see quite fine detail.
