Abandoned Melbourne
A collection of photographs taken during Melbourne's first Covid-19 lockdown in 2020. Gavin John, an established landscape photographer, turned his talents to scenes closer to home. Well-known sites around Melbourne, normally buzzing with people, are shown deserted. The forms and shapes of the city are revealed without the usual distractions.

Swimming in Rod Laver Arena
Newspaper clipping about the World Swimming Championships to be held in a temporary pool constructed inside the Rod Laver Arena. Preliminary troubles included leakage. After the Championships most of the water in the pool was to be piped to the lake in the Royal Botanic Gardens, and the rest to water distressed elms.

Tennis Centre to be updated
Newspaper cuttings about plans to overhaul the tennis centre. Margaret Court Arena to have a retractable roof, and Rod Laver Arena and Hisense Arena to be refurbished. This will ensure that Melbourne hosts the Australian Open until at least 2036. From January 2010.
