Ola Cohn was the sculptor best known as the creator of the Fairies’ Tree in the Fitzroy Gardens but was more important as a pioneer of modernist sculpture in Australia.  Her studio was in East Melbourne.  Dr Barbara Lemon’s book, A Way with the Fairies: the lost story of sculptor Ola Cohn, has recently been published.  It is based on Cohn’s original autobiographical manuscript and enhanced by Dr. Lemon’s own research.  In her talk Dr. Lemon will give us much new information and insights into the world of this remarkable woman.
