The date of the picture is uncertain but in 1917 Torloisk was purchased by the Anglican religious order, the Community of the Holy Name. The property became the St Ives Private Hospital. (Ref. http://www.adb.online.anu.edu.au/biogs/A110621b.htm)

1990 St Ives artist impression

A major extension to St Ives was built in the 1930s connecting to the original building via a series of elevated walk-ways.

St Ives was purchased in 1990 by the Myer family who undertook major renovations including demolition of the hospital extension and restoration of the some of the original architectural forms such as the corner window arches.
