I met a young Richmond resident who was walking her dog through the park while I was taking these pictures. She was as horrified as I was at the deterioration. She told me that she was doing a landscaping course and that her lecturer brought his classes down to Yarra Park to demonstrate in detail the effects of soil compaction.
