Vertical file Postcard. Colour print. The reverse is undivided. Division creating space for a message and another for the address first appeared in 1905.
Looking south from the roof of Parliament House. The Old Treasury is the most prominent building. Cable-trams trundle down Macarthur and Collins Streets. In the foreground is Carpentaria Place with the cabman’s shelter as its main feature. This was designed by Nahum Barnet and built in 1898. Hansom cabs wait for customers nearby. Carpentaria Place has gone and the cabman’s shelter has been removed to Yarra Park, near Brunton Avenue. It is on the Heritage Victoria Register.
