Newspaper clipping telling the story of Malcolm Mathias' search for his lost grandfather who he believes was Lt. Clark Maxwell Gray who died at Fromelles in WW1. Lt Gray's father was principal of Pesbyterian Ladies College, and he, himself, went to Scotch College, both in East Melbourne. Lt Gray was one of several hundred men and women from East Melbourne who served in the Great War. Mr Mathias believes Lt Gray was the secret lover of his grandmother Grace MacKenzie.
