Articles and reviews on various aspects of Victoria's history. This issue is dedicated to aspects of the history of the state's print media. Two of the articles have some relevance to the history of East Melbourne:
1. 'David Syme's Role in the Rise of the Age' by Elisabeth Morrison. David Syme was a resident of East Melbourne. In the 1850s he lived in George Street and in the 1870s in Gisborne Street.
2. 'The Argus and Miss Sutherland' by Sharron Lane. Selina Murray Sutherland was a tireless worker for orphans and neglected and destitute children culminating in the establishemnt of Sutherland Homes. In 1994 Sutherland Homes merged with Berry Street, an institution whose headquarters were in East Melbourne for close to 130 years before recently moving to Richmond.
