The History of the East Melbourne Community Garden by Matt Faubel follows the work of a dedicated team who worked for over six years with the City of Melbourne and other interested parties to find a spot on which they could set up a community garden.

The site behind Sinclair's Cottage in the Fitzroy Gardens was finally settled in 2009.  The East Melbourne Community Garden Association Inc was registered later the same year.  Construction of garden plots started in 2010 and for the last ten years the garden has been a source of enduring pleasure for those lucky enough to have access to a plot, with a long waiting list should one become vacant.

The Appendix lists all committee members for each year of the Association's existence so far.
