Biography of Fr. Ted McGrath. McGrath led a controversial and eventful life. He founded, with Eileen O'Connor, Our Lady's Nurses for the Poor (the Brown Nurses). He became a Missionary of the Sacred Heart, was later expelled from the order, and, even later, reinstated. He was a military chaplain during the First World War and was awarded a Military Cross. In later years he became Chaplain at Mena House, East Melbourne, although this period of his life is barely touched upon.
