- His sister also resided at Geelong, however, there is a reference to an address at 41 Wellington Street East Melbourne
- Joined the 3rd Light Horse Field Ambulance, 16th Reinforcement
- Promoted to Corporal on the 16th October 1915, proceded to Egypt and on the 28th June 1916 transferred to France and served in various areas before returning to Australia on the 31st October 1917 for discharge due to age and debility
- Discharged on 1st February 1918
