Biographical notes: 

Born East Melbourne on the 10 May 1895. Was living in Williamstown with his father in 1915 and was an apprectice Engineer with W Jackson, Nelson Place Williamstown.

Enlisted in the AIF on the 12 July 1915 Allocated to the 5th Battalion. Wilson was 20 years old, a small man of 5'6'' weighing 9 stone.

He spends time a training camp and embarks for Egypt ex Melbourne on the 29 September 1915 on HMAT Oaterey.

Transfers to France early in 1916 and was promoted to Corporal 27 Feb 1916 at the same time that he was transferred to the 57 Battalion.

He suffers from both Trench feet and influenza and spend time in field hoepitals in France during 1916.

Wilson was promoted to Sgt on the 3 March 1918 in the field in France.

He was wounded in action on the 1 September 1918 with a GSW to the Buddock and stomach.

The wound was serious and he was sent back to he UK on the 16 September 1918 to the 3rd Western General Hospital in Cardiff.

He returnd to Australia on the SS Margha and arrived back in Melbourne on the 4 March 1919.

On the 17 June 1919 he was awarded the Military Medal for ' Bravery in the Field'

 Thirteen days after being awarded a MM and only four months after returning home Wilson was killed on the 30 June 1919 in an' motor bike accident' at Williamstown. He collided with a horse vehicle driven by William Davis and died within the hour of Concussion and internal bleeding.

Wilson was buried at the Brighton Cemetary on the 3 July 1919.
