Dr. Ross McMullin ANZAC Lecture, Wednesday 22 April 2015
Dr. Ross McMullin is an historian and biographer whose major interests are Australian history, politics and sport. He has written extensively on the impact of involvement in World War 1 on Australia. His prize-winning biography on one of Australia's outstanding military leaders, Pompey Elliot, and his recent work Farewell Dear People: Biographies of Australia's Lost Generation, winner of the 2013 National Cultural Award, have been widely acclaimed. Farewell Dear People relates the stories of exceptional Australians, including a revered medical scientist, an Antarctic explorer, an outstanding footballer and the farmer who inspired the film Gallipoli.
