East Melbourne page shows Grey Street West and Gipps Street West, now Cathedral Place and St Andrews Place respectively.  

Map also shows schools: Scotch College, St Patrick's College, Christian Brothers College and Presbyterian Ladies' College

Contoured Plan Collngwood and East Melbourne 1853

This map is described as 'shewing the buildings facing the principal streets at the time of survey'. A handwritten note says 'Submitted to the Surveyor General with my letter dated Nov'r 29 1853'. It is signed Clement Hodgkinson, Surveyor.

The buildings shown are colour-coded according to building material.

Aerial map of East Melbourne and Richmond taken in 1967.  

Some noticeable changes include: centre parking in Grey and Hotham Streets; the absence of paths in Darling Square; the building on the eastern edge of Powlett Reserve once used as a child care centre for 2 to 3 year-old, pre-kinder children.
