Farewell, Dear People: Australia's Gifted Lost Generation of World War 1

Dr Ross McMullin is an historian and biographer whose major interests are Australian history, politics and sport.  He has written extensively on the impact of involvement in World War 1 on Australia.  His prize winning biography on one of Australia's outstanding military leaders, Pompey Elliott, and his recent work, Farewell Dear People: Biographies of Australia's Lost Generation, winner of the 2013 National Cultural Award, have been widely acclaimed.  Farewell Dear People relates the stories of exceptional Australians, including a revered medical scientist, an Antarctic explorer, an outstanding footballer and the farmer who inspired the film Gallipoli. Dr Mullin's talk will be based on this book.
